Hi Altona Swimming Club Members,

We hope are well and coping with everything going on right now…

Here is an update of what is happening within the Altona Swimming Club as at the 25^th July, 2020:

Survey:

This morning you will have received an invitation to complete a survey. To help the Committee operate the club next year as well as set it up for the long term future, we have asked you – our members – for some input to guide us. It will take you just a few minutes to complete, and thank you for your support in advance for completing.

COVID19

We expect Bayfit be remain closed for at least another 4 weeks, and like everyone hope Victoria can get its infection cases under control, and begin to re-open the state as soon as possible.

When the pool is re-opened, the Committee’s focus will be to start running the Squad as quickly as possible. With this in mind, the need for you to renew is even more important. We will need to be able to plan for the amount of members that will want to swim - within any “restricted numbers framework” that may be in place at the time. So, if there is a limit of 3 members per lane, or 20 people in the pool at once, we need to discuss our requirements with Bayfit. We greatly appreciate the members that have already joined the club for Season 2020-21 in the past few weeks. Here is a table of our renewals for 2020-21 thus far:

RENEWALS: As of Monday 21^st July, we have had the following renew their membership – thanks heaps to those signed up.

Renewal Giveaway: To speed up the rate of renewals, we are increasing the giveaway package (see attached image) if you renew before 31-7, by adding a Natio Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser and a Natio Evening Primrose Face Moisturiser, and we will increase the Masks for the kids from 4 to 6. That is a total value of $100.40

Please remember the importance of renewing, here are some important reasons:

• If you are not a member, you cannot swim in our squad at Mason Street
• knowing how many members we have helps us plan sessions with our Coaches Paul and Adrian, and then liaise with Bayfit for adequate lane space
• Insurance coverage for Dry Land sessions

Committee

I am pleased to announce that everyone on our Committee has committed to staying on in their role for Season 2020-21, and we welcome anyone who would like to join with us, and lead the club next year. We know there is more the club can offer its members, and need 2 or 3 more people to help implement and operate certain initiatives. We have 1 meeting each month, and these are currently held via Zoom.

Our AGM as already notified by email on the 17/7/2020, will be held by Zoom online, on Tuesday 11^th August at 6.30pm. Please rsvp to Mark @ presascse@gmail.com to receive details and an invite.
